The Day is almost HERE. ... This Saturday the Glee Club Verdandi Hbtq Malmö Will be hosting a "YOGA FOR LIFE FUNDRAISING EVENT” at Celsiusgatan 31 starting at 10 am in an effort to raise funds to support the homeless LGBTQ Youth in Jamaica. Unequivocally, the culture of homophobia in Jamaica causes some parents to throw their gay or transgender children on to the streets, with some as young as 12 years old. Some have even been forced to engage in sex-work to survive. They are paid extra to have condom-less sex, which increases their vulnerability to HIV and other STIs. They also face adult issues without adult guidance or State support, and with widespread hostility from the Jamaican society this makes their situation even worse.
